●The cables, steel wires and steel bars are straightened and shaped by the straightening roller by some successive stages until the final products are obtained. When the straightening rollers process the coil material or other unshapen products, usually it will carry out the straightening process by the following three steps:
1.Straightening:the goal is putting the material back to its original shape. The operation is performed by the first few straightening rollers.
2.The removal of the residual form in the material that is occurred by winding on the bobbin. This operation is performed by the rollers that located in the center of the straightening machines.
3.The final forming of the steel wire is carried out by the last few rollers on the straightening machine. Generally the last few rollers are fixed at an angle of 90°with the first few rollers. it is necessary to combine the three steps. That is the reason why the straightening machines uses 5, 7, 9, 11 or even13pcs rollers placed in two planes.
● The precision of the roller has a major influence on the quality of the final product (steel wires) as well as the working life of the rollers. It is therefore essential that the rectified "V" notch on the outer ring has the same geometric characteristics and precision with the other parts of the roller. For this reason, the notch on straightening roller is precisely processed prior to roller assembly.
It is risky to grind the notch on the assembled straightening roller, as the roller may be damaged. It will affect the uniformity and geometrical precision of the roller. And the life of the roller will be shortened and the quality of wire drawing will be affected accordingly.
